New Year's Resolve

For the past couple of years, I've stopped making New Year's resolutions. Why? Well, because they always seem to be about losing weight and I always bid them goodbye merely a week later when faced with my lifelong nemesis. If you haven't figured it out yet, I am sorely lacking in self-control when faced with my  food.

Anyway, this year I was resolved to be better but didn't have any specific target in mind, until I realized that my lack of resolve was caused by my fear of disappointments. Year after year, I'd set a goal and I always tend to miss it or not push through with it altogether, so why bother right? My logic tends to be one-sided when it comes to shielding me from future hurts. My solution? Blog about it so I can't wimp out.

This 2013, I am making a New Year's resolution that entails major commitment because I am determined to face my fears head-on. At 27, there's really no better time than the present to start making changes and taking charge of where my life is headed. So whenever I face something that causes my shyness to rear its head or my fears to cause me to retreat, I will, at the very least, give it a good try. (Bolder, fiercer, edgier fashion choices included.)

“What would you do today if you knew you wouldn't fail?" A line Josh Duhammel said from a speech in the cheeseball movie, New Year's Eve. "Now go out and do it.”

2013, bring it on!

    I have the same feeling too in rounding up resolutions in the past year, though this year i tend to navigate changes toward to other aspects like financial matters and personal happiness. Gotta hang the "losing weight" as its been in the list for more than a decade now. hehe..

  2. Nice hair and such an adorable face and smile. :) What I thought was a cropped top and a rather high-waist skirt is actually a nice dress. The bracelet and sandals are very cool as well. Have yourself a happy and prosperous new year!

  5. Yes! You go girl! :) My 27th year was big for me too. It's when I learned to accept myself and to be proud of my own little accomplishments. Now I'm 33 and I'm glad 27 happened to me. Here's to a great new year for you!

  11. I don't "officially" make resolutions but I am trying to eat healthier and be more active. Maybe this year, hehe.
